Espresso Workshop

Espresso Workshop Logo

Espresso Workshop was founded in 2007. It was built on the principle of unlocking the flavour potential of specialty coffee, advocating for unique flavour profiles, and promoting premium single-origin coffee.

Espresso Workshop aims to demonstrate that coffee is not just a product but an experience. This coffee obsession, sometimes fanatical, drives the focus on the product, inspiring the production of better coffee.

The first step in producing small batch roasted coffee at Espresso Workshop is sourcing the best quality green coffee available. The coffee must be traceable and transparent. This includes details about the producer, altitude, varietal, processing method, and any unique harvest information. They believe that strong relationships yield better coffee. Espresso Workshop actively seeks to strengthen and pursue longevity in these relationships, developing trust over a decade of experience in roasting speciality coffee and building a reputable presence in the industry.

Espresso Workshop’s Ōrākei premises serve not just as a roastery but also as a collaborative space, featuring partnerships like the one with Ampersand Eatery. Ampersand offers a sleek all-day menu overlooking Hobson Bay, complemented by a specialty coffee-focused espresso bar and an extensive coffee retail area. Additionally, the established espresso bar location in Britomart continues to serve city and city fringe coffee enthusiasts, contributing to the vibrant Britomart Precinct and witnessing its development over the last decade.

They have over 10 coffee roasts in their range. They are the go-to place for coffee machines and equipment. If you want to make better coffee yourself, check out their home barista courses.
