Barcodes for Cards
If you are selling greeting cards or postcards, you have 3 different options for barcoding your products.
1. Put a different EAN-13 barcode (13-digit barcode) on each card
This is the most expensive option, but also the best option. Please order below (or email us for a quote – [email protected]) if you want to proceed with this option.
2. Get one EAN-13 barcode, and use it to create many different EAN-13+2 barcode images – one for each card – using supplements 01-99 to indicate
the different cards
This is a more affordable option. However, some retail systems don’t recognise the extra supplement digits. This will only work in some retail systems (please check with your retailer).
3. Get one EAN-13 barcode and use the same barcode on all your cards.
This is the most affordable option. Please note that your retailers will need to manually check which of your cards they are selling out of and need to re-order (they can’t do an automatic stock-take). You will need a different EAN-13 barcode for each different price. This means that if you have 2 categories of birthday cards, one priced at $10.00 each and the other priced at $12.00 each, you would need two EAN-13 barcodes (one for each category/price).
If you need barcodes for your greeting cards or postcards (or a similar product), please send us an email and tell us how many different cards you have – we will give you advice on the best option for you & give you some quotes. Our email address is [email protected].
